Not God’s Type 2014 (Dr. Holly Ordway)

In late 2011 I spoke with Dr. Holly Ordway about Not God’s Type (which first came out in 2010). A new edition was just release (2014) that elaborates further on her conversion from atheism and further developments since becoming a Christian. Hers is a fascinating story that will be interesting to all. Learn how the writings of C.S. Lewis prepared her in many ways to come to faith and then grow as a believer.

C.S. Lewis vs the New Atheists #4 – A Desire for Divinity?

This is the fourth in a series of eight shows on C.S. Lewis vs the New Atheists. In addition to having the author of the book (Peter S. Williams) with me (William O’Flaherty), I am also joined again by Peter Byrom to help co-host. Today’s discussion is about the third chapter of the book. If you haven’t listened to last week’s show then follow the link below to hear it. This fourth of eight episodes covers “A Desire for Divinity?”

C.S. Lewis vs the New Atheists #3 – The Positively Blunt Sword of Scientism

This is the third in a series of eight shows on C.S. Lewis vs the New Atheists. In addition to having the author of the book (Peter S. Williams) with me (William O’Flaherty), I am also joined again by Peter Byrom to help co-host. Today’s discussion is about the second chapter of the book. C.S. Lewis vs the New Atheists #2 – Old-Time Atheism

My last new show was the debut program in a series on C.S. Lewis vs the New Atheists. In addition to having the author of the book with me (Peter S. Williams), I also have a co-host for this new series. Peter Byrom joins me (William O’Flaherty) again and this time we chat about the first chapter in greater detail. If you haven’t listened to last week’s show then follow the link below to hear an overview of the entire book. This second of eight episodes covers “Old Time Atheism.”

C.S. Lewis vs the New Atheists #1 – Series Overview

Last year (2013) there were many books released about C.S. Lewis. One you might have missed is C.S. Lewis vs the New Atheists. While I did a single interview about this book by Peter S. Williams shortly after its released, I felt the material is so useful that it deserved an entire series of shows. Thus, the following is the first of eight programs devoted to the book. This debut episode provides an overview of the entire book. In addition to William O’Flaherty producing and hosting the show, Peter Byrom joins as co-host for the series.

The Christian World of The Hobbit Series (Re-post)

Back in late 2012 I released a five-part mini-series about a book that had just come out called The Christian World of the The Hobbit by Dr. Devin Brown. This was before the first of three movies hit the big screen. Now that the final major motion picture is coming out in three months I thought it would be a great time to re-post the entire series. Normally I just post one show a week (even when posting a previously released episodes), but because I’m moving my podcast hosting and I have an upcoming new series I decided to re-release them over a five day period. So far the first two shows are posted.

C.S. Lewis as Theologian (Dr. Don Williams)

The focus of this podcast is a talk that Dr. Donald Williams gave recently that was a paper presented at Taylor University earlier this year as part of the 9th Frances White Ewbank Colloquium on C.S. Lewis & Friends. Dr. Williams explores the challenges faced when consider Lewis as a theologian. The material is the ground work for a book he is working and in it he share why such an examination is needed.

The Heart of Light (Dr. Charlie Starr)

I’m sharing an interview from respected C.S. Lewis scholar Dr. Charlie Starr, but it’s not directly about Lewis. However, Charlie does announce news about upcoming articles related to Lewis towards the end of the show. However, the main focus is on a brand new fictional book that is influenced in part by Lewis and done in the vein of his Science Fiction trilogy. The book is called The Heart of Light: A Tale of Solomon Star and it is the first of what should be many great adventures. This is also different in another way,

D.L. Moody: A Life (Kevin Belmonte)

This is a very different edition of All About Jack. Normally I share material more directly related to C.S. Lewis, but that’s not the case today. Instead I’m sharing an interview I asked Gina Dalfonzo to conduct on my behalf with Kevin Belmonte about his new book called D.L. Moody A Life: Innovator, Evangelist, World Changer. While we know of no direct influence Moody had on Lewis, we do know that Moody advocated what Lewis would later call “Mere Christianity.”
