What the Bird Said Early in the Year – Reading by Dr. Don King

While in Oxford last week I visited the famous Addison’s Walk. It is on the grounds at Magdalen, where Lewis taught for nearly 30 years. I was there attending the Inklings Week that the Inklings Fellowship organized. Dr. Don King was doing an informal tour of Magdalen and when we arrived at the place where …

Highlights Inklings Weekend 2016

There were three other great talks given as part of the Inklings Fellowship Weekend Retreat that was held in Montreat, NC at Montreat College.  The following is a show featuring excepts from each of the talks given by Don King, Dennis Beets and Hal Poe (in that order). Only about fifteen minutes of each presentation …

An Inklings Week in Oxford 2016

There are many ways to learn more about the writings and life of C.S. Lewis and his Inklings friends. The following interview tells about one great way: visit the area where they lived and discuss their writings with those who know them well. Dr. Hal Poe and Dr. Don King join William O’Flaherty to tell …

A Naked Tree/Yet One More Spring (Dr. Don King)

2015 is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Joy Davidman, C.S. Lewis’s wife. It just so happens that Dr. Don King has two new books this year (one not yet released at the time of this posting) related to her. A Naked Tree (the one currently available) is actually edited by Don and is a …

Out of My Bone – The Letters of Joy Davidman (Dr. Don King)

Back in 2012 I did my first interview with Dr. Don King. It was on the 2009 book entitled Out of My Bone: The Letters of Joy Davidman. This is the first time I’ve reposted the interview since I’ve had my podcast at the Podbean location. In this chat I also had Don answer some questions …

The Collected Poems of C. S. Lewis (Dr. Don King)

Some Lewis readers are unaware that he wrote poetry (or at best are uninterested in it). Dr. Don King, editor of The Collected Poems of C.S. Lewis: A Critical Edition, believes such individuals are missing out on not only gaining a better understanding of the author, but they are also depriving themselves of some great writings. William …

C. S. Lewis Symposium (Three Videos)

I’ve previously mentioned several times that Lewis was honored in Poets’ Corner in 2013. One fact that you may not have been aware of was that the day before this occurred there were three meetings that were part of a symposium to help celebrate his legacy. Those events from November 21st were filmed by Lunar Firm and the videos are now released by a group called Christian Evidence with permission from the Westminster Abbey Institute. They are as follows with a link that enables you to watch the video from this post.
