Here’s a special edition of “90 Seconds to Knowing C.S. Lewis” (it’s the same length, but not about Lewis himself).
Note the text version of the show is below!
Fellowship for Performing Arts
Today I’m sharing about a great organization that produces excellent plays; the majority of them related to C.S. Lewis. Their name is Fellowship for Performing Arts (or FPA) and they were founded by award-winning actor Max McLean.
A great way to sum up the purpose of FPA, would be to say they exist to present “Theatre from a Christian worldview that captures the moral imagination and engages a diverse audience.”
I’ve had the privilege to interview Max McLean twice for my All About Jack podcast (see description below for a link for them). Both centered around their production of The Screwtape Letters, but we also managed to discuss other productions and some of the history of the organization in each. At the time of this recording, they had recently done a national tour of all three of their Lewis related shows…The Great Divorce, The Most Reluctant Convert and The Screwtape Letters. You can check their website for all the latest tours and dates….
FPA’s production of The Screwtape Letters, which they have done on and off for many years, has received rave reviews; as have their other shows.
Besides touring across the United States, this New York-based theatre company has done several seasons of their productions in New York itself, including a few years ago presenting the Tony-nominated Shadowlands.
